Today would be a normal day like any other. However, Juli didn't think it was. Today was her big day. Later that night at the basketball game, she was going to show off her dance skills in a dance battle. Now normally, Juli was a simple ballroom kind of girl, but tonight was a hip hop dance battle. Juli was extremely nervous. She hadn't done much hip hop in her years as a dancer unless it was with a partner. Having to do it all on her own in front of all of those people really scared her. She wasn't so nervous about messing up in front of those people. She was more scared about what they would do or say after she was done dancing. Would they boo her? Or would they give her a standing ovation? She, like everyone would, wanted the latter. She was just scared that because she was a pretty and that she wasn't supposed to know how to break it down, she was afraid that people weren't going to talk to her because she had broken some sort of invisible line or something. It was stupid, yes,but she thought it.
Pushing the door open to the locker rooms off of the gym, Juli walked over to the locker that had her lock on it for when she had gym class. It probably smelt in there. She had an old pair of sneakers that she kept in there, but she hadn't brought them home to wash them yet. On top of that, the deodorant she had in the locker wasn't exactly strong enough to cover the smell of sweat. It wasn't too too strong but strong enough for Juli to hate going to her gym locker. She reached it finally and twisted the lock to the corresponding numbers to unlock it. She removed it and set it on the bench as she turned to open up the locker door. She stuff the small purse she had been carrying with her and shut the locker. She already had on some comfy stretch jazz pants and a t-shirt so she didn't need to take any clothes out of her locker. She turned around to take the lock off the bench and put it back onto the locker. She locked it and turned towards the athletic office.
As she walked down the small hall, she heard the gym teacher, Mr. Valancey, on the phone talking to someone about new gym equipment. God knows they needed even more equipment for that gym. She let her sour face change into a smile as she reached the open doorway to his office and knocked lightly on the door frame. Mr. Valancey told the other person that he had to go now and that he would talk with them later when he spotted Juli. Hanging up the phone, he turned his attention to her. "Hi Mr. Valancey. I need the large boombox so I can practice for tonight," she told him. He nodded and got up, walking over to the closet. He unlocked the closet with his key and pulled the large boombox out. Handing it to her, he warned her to be careful with it since it was new and very expensive. She responded by telling him not to worry. She walked out of his office and into the gym.
She put the boombox down against the wall. Plugging it in, she set the radio to be on the one good hip hop station. Turning up the volume so that the songs blared and echoed throughout the gym. She walked away from it and stood a good few feet away so that she could warm up and start dancing.

Cruncy leaves and different shades of orange just falling off trees, one by one. The perfect fall day for Andy, especially when he's at school and he could find somewhere warm to go. The gym was his least favourite place in the school, but it was also the only place he could go to without getting kicked out. As he began to walk through short corridor, past the toilets, then past the changing rooms where he had been beating up many times before for being gay, but he seemed to always win the fight, mainly because he was used to fighting and had taken karate lessons; he knew these fights were going to come at one point, so he had to be well prepared. He quickly moved forward, past the girl changing rooms and then he started to hear a faint sound of banging around in the hall. "Oh no, not hip-hop" He uttered to himself in disgust. He stared through the clear door and noticed Juli. He had seen her around, but never really spoke to her. He wrapped his arms round the little door handle and pulled it towards himself. He allowed his body to fly through the door and find a seat on the benches. His eyes flickered where the trees allowed the sun to simply blink through, and nothing else, so he quickly moved to the right a little bit where he was sitting closer to the radio which started to really bug him. "Love, you're listening to utte shit." He yelled over the music, hoping she would hear him and possibly respond to him.
((Sorry for the crap post; I just didn't have the muse at all. xD )) [/size]

Juli was already working up a sweat but all she was doing was warming up. The best way she knew how to warm up for dancing was to dance. Of course, the first five songs that had played on the radio were crap ones so she couldn't really practice too well to them. That's why she simply did a few chest and rib cage movements and then hip isolations and a few stretches of her legs and arms and back. She happened to be laying on the floor on her stomach stretching when she switched sides and saw a pair of feet walk in and sit down on the bleachers. She didn't really care who it was she just didn't want them in there watching her. Her main goal was to play the hip hop music so loud that everyone would hate it and not walk in on her.
She got up slowly when she heard him say something to her over the music. She sat up and then stood up and looked directly at him before turning to the boombox and turning it down. "Excuse me?" she asked in a polite tone. She was sure that whatever he had said wasn't nice but in case it was, she wasn't going to be rude. Juli was taught to never be rude if the other person hadn't been rude. Even in this kind of case, Juli wouldn't be rude, it just wasn't her unless the person was directly rude and she heard it flat out.

Andrew ignored her for a few seconds before wondering whether he should bother replying to her in any sort of way, or just get up and leave. How would he reply to her, anyway? She seemed like a stuck up girl anyway, so he just took his iPod out of his pocket, then opened his mouth to reply. " I said Love, you're listening to utter shit." He replied with a tone which was in between cocky and just cheeky. He didn't really care what she thought of him, 'cause he was in detention, so he decided he might as well watch her dancing, as it could end up being quite interesting. Naturally, he waited for a response, then he started to flick through his iPod getting bored of waiting for her. He heard the door slam then he looked up. The P.E teacher had walked out of his office muttering something under his breath. Andy shrugged his shoulders then turned back to Julianne who he was still waiting for a response from. It seemed odd how she was in the gym when a lot of people would generally be off with their boyfriend or girlfriend, or more commonly, be with their friends.
He was curious as to why she was here and not with her clique, but then again she could ask the same question, as a lot of poeple do. He stood up and walked over to the clibing frame and sat down in one of the hoops which were upright, then sat there and stared at her with an evil grin, the sort of grin people would expect to find in a murder film. Andy couldn't help but look the way he did, it was only natural after years of learning to fend for himself in this evil world, where his mother was killed, his fsther had become an alcoholic and his brother had hated him, not only that, but the fact he was gay, so he he had to get tougher, or he would just not survive in ths worl he lived in, or that's how he saw it.

She simply glared at him after she heard what he had to say. She watched him take his iPod out as if nothing in this world would ever bother him. The music was still going behind her. It wasn't soft but it wasn't as loud as it was before. Her face turned at the same time his did to see Mr. Valancey come storming in muttering under his breath. He walked right up to Juli and told her that the next time if she could keep the music at a decent level. He had just lost an important phone call because of the loud music in the background. She apologized and told him that she wouldn't do that again and Mr. Valancey stormed off. She watched after him before turning her attention to where the kid was now sitting. She didn't know who he was and now, she didn't care. "You think I don't know that?" she snapped back at him. "Why would you care anyways? Shouldn't you be out doing or dealing drugs or something?" she said with a grin of her own appearing on her lips.
Juli was not a girl to cross. She may have seemed stuck up and pretty, but she was definitely not a girl to get pissed off so easily. This kid had no idea what he was in for. He had spoken to her first so now, he was going to learn the wrath that is Julianne Keaton. She stood and crossed her arms across her chest to see what kind of witty remark this loser could think of.
