PLOT
After a handsome but conceited prince treats a beggar woman poorly, the woman turns out to be a beautiful enchantress and turns the prince into a beast. Further, the prince's staff is all transformed into objects to do with their profession. The prince is given a magical mirror to view the outside world. To break the spell, he needs to learn to love a person for who they are, and get her to love him before a magical rose loses its petals. Meanwhile in a nearby village, a beautiful young bookworm (Belle) feels lonely and out of place. She lives with her eccentric but kind father, Maurice. Soon, Maurice goes off to compete at an inventors' fair but gets lost in the woods and ends up a prisoner at the beast's castle. Belle eventually finds the castle and makes a deal with the beast to let her father go in return for her staying there with the beast. As the beast's inner kindness slowly reveals itself, Belle grows to be in love with him. However, a jilted, self-centered and overly-masculine suitor from Belle's village, Gaston, takes a posse to 'save' her from the beast. Gaston ends up stabbing the best. Luckily, when Belle rushes to the beast and expresses her love for him, he comes back to life again as a handsome prince.

Character Name:Brianna Jones Part Desired:Belle Second Choice:Mrs. Potts AUDITION:Brianna walked into the theater looking very professional. She really wanted to ace this audition. She handed each of the judges her portfolio and her contact information. She walked up on stage, quietly. 14 years as a cheerleader and she still got really nervous in front of the judges. You could never really tell what they were thinking. Brianna cleared her throut. At least being a cheerleader allowed her to have a voice. "Hello and good morning. My name is Brianna Jones and I'm additioning for the part of Belle." Brianna kept her voice loud, but not too loud, and clear. She smiled at them respectfully. "For my audition I would like to sing a song. The song that I'm going to sing for you today is from the Disney movie Mulan called 'Reflection'" Brianna picked this particular song because she felt that it really let her hit the notes just perfectly. Brianna swallowed hard. She said a small quick prayer to herself. Brianna took a deep breath and let herself start to sing. "Look at me You may think you see who I really am But you'll never know me Ev'ry day It's as if I play a part Now I see If I wear a mask I can fool the world But I cannot fool my heart
Who is that girl I see Staring straight back at me? When will my reflection show Who I am inside?
I am now In a world where I have to hide my heart And what I believe in But somehow I will show the world What's inside my heart And be loved for who I am
Who is that girl I see Staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Must I pretend that I'm Someone else for all time? When will my reflection show Who I am inside?
There's a heart that must be free to fly That burns with a need to know the reason why Why must we all conceal What we think How we feel Must there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?
I won't pretend that I'm Someone else For all time When will my reflection show Who I am inside? When will my reflection show Who I am inside?" When Brianna was done, she took a deep breath. Her voice was almost perfect. Her voice quivered a few time sbut not to the point where it sounded bad. It sounded really good. Brianna didnt want to brag, but she just might have been American Idol material. Brianna couldnt help smiling to herself. It took her a few minutes to actually calm down. She always got a rush after she was done singing it was something that she was actually really passionate about. She smiled down at the judges once more. They seemed to be nodded and talking amongst themselves. Brianna was hopeing that they were saying good things about her. She figured she had best leave before she got too late and was just standing there like a bump on a log. "I would like to thank you all for your time. If you need me to audition again with a acting piece, please feel free to contact me anytime." Brianna gave a respectful bow and left

Post by Chloe Madison on Jan 6, 2009 11:44:19 GMT -5
Character Name: Chloe Madison Part Desired: Babette Second Choice: Belle, Mrs. Potts, Silly Girls AUDITION:Chloe made sure to get herself nice and dolled up for her audition. earlier that morning, she had eaten a very good and healthy breakfast that her mother had cooked up for her greek style and she had also made sure to drink a lot of water before she knew she had to get ready for the auditions.
She was sitting in the auditorium hall with a bunch of other students, waiting for her name to be called. Once she heard her name, she popped off of the floor and into the auditorium with her portfolio in hand. Because she had done Mamma Mia on Broadway she was sure that she was to get some sort of part in this play. She desperately wanted Babette, the cute little feather duster that flirts with Lumiere, but she would be happy with anything they gave her.
As she walked by the judges, she placed her portfolio down in front of one of them and made her over and up the side stairs and up onto the stage. A few of them glanced at her portfolio together as the head judge, seated in the middle of them all, looked up at Chloe, signaling her to start. She cleared her throat lightly before speaking. "Good morning. My name is Chloe Madison and I will be trying out for the part of Babette," she told them with confidence in her voice, not cockiness just confidence.
She looked to the pianist whom she had been practicing with for the past week or so before looking back to the judges with a smile. "The selection I have chosen is a monologue song sung by Elphaba from the musical Wicked," she stated as the pianist gave her her starting note. She took a deep breath and nodded to the pianist to start the music. When she heard the right amount of music and beats for her to start singing the song, she did.
When I meet the Wizard Once I prove my worth And then I meet the Wizard What I've waited for since: since birth! And with all his Wizard wisdom By my looks, he won't be blinded Do you think the Wizard is dumb? Or, like Munchkins, so small-minded? No! He'll say to me, "I see who you truly are - A girl on whom I can rely!" And that's how we'll begin The Wizard and I
She paused and let the pianist play through. She concentrated her breathing as she got ready to sing the next verse.
Once I'm with the Wizard My whole life will change 'Cuz once you're with the Wizard No one thinks you're strange! No father is not proud of you, No sister acts ashamed And all of Oz has to love you When by the Wizard you're acclaimed And this gift - or this curse - I have inside Maybe at last, I'll know why When we are hand and hand - The Wizard and I!
As the music slowed down, Chloe let her acting skills come into the play for the next part since it was half spoken and half sung.
And one day, he'll say to me, "Elphaba, A girl who is so superior Shouldn't a girl who's so good inside Have a matching exterior? And since folks here to an absurd degree Seem fixated on your verdigris Would it be all right by you If I de-greenify you?"
And though of course That's not important to me "All right, why not?" I'll reply Oh, what a pair we'll be The Wizard and I Yes, what a pair we'll be The Wizard and...
As the music got softer, so did Chloe's voice as she made to sing the second to last part of the song.
Unlimited My future is unlimited And I've just had a vision Almost like a prophecy I know - it sounds truly crazy And true, the vision's hazy But I swear, someday there'll be A celebration throughout Oz That's all to do with me!
She held out the word "me" making a few nice up and down movements with her voice that blended nicely with the key. She let her voice get louder and stronger for the next part as it was the big crescendo of the music towards the end of the song.
And I'll stand there with the Wizard Feeling things I've never felt And though I'd never show it I'll be so happy, I could melt! And so it will be For the rest of my life And I'll want nothing else Till I die Held in such high esteem When people see me, they will scream For half of Oz's fav'rite team: The Wizard And I!
After holding out the last note for a good amount of time, she ended the song and smiled at the pianist and mouthed the words thank you as she let herself look back to the judges. All heads were down and scribbling so she waited for one of them to look up at her and thank her. When one of them finally did, she smiled and bowed her head. "Thank you for your time," she said as she turned and walked off the stage, hoping that she would get the part she wanted in the play of Beauty and the Beast.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
