Okay, so it was Free Skate Night. A lot of people came with money ready but would soon reolize, when it said FREE skate night, it meant it was FREE not as in, you can skate on the rink with a risk FREE night. Hell, no...
The hockey players practiced every night, just they had half the rink sanctioned off for the hockey players while they practice, and the other half was for people to have fun on the ice. Men, Women, Children, even dogs played on the ice. Music played, changing from Christmas music, to rock, to rap, but mostly Christmas Music, Country, and Rock. Don't know why, but its fun for the Hockey players when they play Hard Rock. Gets 'em pumped up. Currently, they where playing the song Decode by Paramore.
The two sides where separated by orange cones, and a small 3 ft tall collapsible wall that they took up after the night was finished. The box on the side where they players where practicing was filled with the waiting players who where either taking a break, or who just sucked.
People stood along the small 3 ft wall watching the 11 players skate back and forth and pass the rubber puck back and forth between each other. Some connected along the boards and went down onto the ice. Some, would use the blade of their stick to throw it to the goal and attempt to score on the goalie. Some also attempted to evade the other man covering them.
Ian was currently playing Defense. They had him, including 4 other players, and a goalie. He was a Defense man. He was the hardest hitter. He had already payed 5 grand to the Ice Rink owner for putting an opposing player through the glass here.
Quickly he came around the goal and would find himself with another player. He watched as a player skated along the wall and hit his stick against the ice, saying he was open and had a clear shot.
Ian would race to him, and once the puck hit his stick, he was already considered a dead man. Ian would hit him as hard as he could. The people on the other side of the wall would just quickly clear out. The wall would collapse underneath both young men as Ian hit him. The puck sliding into the people, their sticks also sliding along the ice, along with some gloves.
Ian's helmet came off when he hit him and was sitting near the center of the Free Skate zone.
The two laid on the ice. Ian, rolling off of the young man he would just lay on his back for a few moments, spitting out his mouth peace in the process. He grunted and just laid there catching his breath, his eyes closed, and his nose bleeding.
It was a rough sport, no doubt. But damn, not during practice. Ian seemed to put A LOT of effort to the games, and A LOT of effort to Practice.

Juli was ready to get her skates on and go skating. It had been a few months since her last injury here, but she was determined to take on the ice again. She stood in line at the skate counter to get some skates, size 8. When she approached the counter she told the guy what size she was. He smiled and commented on how small her feet were flirtatiously. She graciously smiled back at him but only took her skates from him and walked away. She didn't like flirting especially with a kid who looked like all he wanted was her body. Juli was definitely not into that.
She walked to an empty bench and sat down. She traded her shoes for the skates and laced them up nice and tight. The second she stood up to go put her shoes and bag into a locker, her ankle started to throb a bit. She took in a deep breath and keep walking. She took the lock out of her bag and put her things in an empty locker in the main sitting area. She put the lock on and locked up her stuff before walking away to go to the entrance of the skate rink. The second she reached it, she felt a chill but the second she saw that others were there, she felt better and placed her left foot onto the ice first. Once she pushed herself off, her ankle throbbed for only a second and then she was off.
She wasn't fancy with jumps or spins, but she skated backwards and forwards and even sideways a bit in the marked off section for non-hockey players. She didn't like how the hockey players had to use more of rink and forced everyone to skate in this small section. Juli needed more room to practice her grace and balance. She skidded and stopped when she saw two hockey players on the ground after a short tussle. She raised her eyebrows and laughed lightly. How stupid could people be to want to put themselves into danger like that? She continued to skate and slowly started to gain attention from those she was skating around.

He grunted as he stood to his skates and would balance himself. Using his bare hand to wipe his nose he would rid his face of the blood. He shook his head and would pick up his mouth piece. Helping the other player up they would speak briefly.
" Nice Hit Bro," Said number 75. " Thanks, I tried my hardest not to take your head off." Said Ian, who was number 21.
" Stryker, you aight?" Yelled the coach from the bench.
Nodding Ian would shake his head , basically saying he was fine.
" Good, You and Henson just skate around the Free Skate area for a bit, cool down. I'll put in some of your back ups." The coach said as he would push in two other players in place of Ian and his partner number 75.
Ian would gather his things and put them into the bench with everyone and being to skate around. He had noticed a blond girl actually, rather attractive, seemed kind of nervous being on the ice. Maybe he should help her?
As he was doing his first lap he would come up behind her. " Hi there." He smiled handsomely to her as he would skate beside her, his team mate passing them up. He was not wearing a helmet, or gloves. So she could see his sweaty hair, but his dry hands.
He had wiped his nose with his left, so if he where to shake her hand, he would use his main right hand so he wouldn't get her hand bloody.

Juli was minding her own business. She didn't really pay attention to much else other than herself when she skated. She didn't like to be distracted. She hated when people would try to talk to her just as she would be flowing and getting ready to do some moves. It was absolutely terrible how rude some people were about it too. Some people would push into to get your attention. Juli rolled her eyes as she continued to skate, only to be brought out of her thoughts by a nearby voice speaking to her.
She turned to look at the young man to see that he was a bit sweaty and wearing a hockey jersey. She took in a deep breath and forced a smile back. He seemed nice enough but she wondered why he had come over in the first place? Did something start to rip in the back of her pants or something? She let her thoughts wander off as she opened her mouth to reply to him. "Hello," she said rather slowly, dragging out the word. She kept skating around, watching him as she felt another hockey player pass them. She started to wonder if this was some sort of joke.

He would notice her concentration. " First time?" He would ask as he skated beside her, watching her, eyes never even looking down or ahead. He was good at skating. He had been skating his ENTIRE life practically. He could skate fast, slow, backwards, even sideways, and sometimes step skate. There where tons of ways to skate. He remembered and knew every way. " Your focusing to much on your feet and slipping," He chuckled, " What you need to do is just relax, let your shoulders relax, and your back, along with your mind. And think about skating. Its almost like walking without picking your feet up. All you have to worry about is you. And don't think about falling. You do and you will fall,"
He would turn around so he could skate backwards, watching her." Also take longer strides. Just like walking." He smiled and just watched.
" By the way, names Ian." He said with a handsome, warm smile as he would skate backwards, keeping with her pace.

She watched him as he spoke to her and tried to instruct her. She knew what she was going. She had been on the ice enough to know what she was going with her body. The point of focusing was to concentrate and for her, that worked just perfectly. She waited for him to finish speaking but saw him spin around so he was skating backwards next to her and sate his name. Ian. A simple and yet intriguing name. She could tell that he was at least attempting to flirt with her. His smile said a lot and Juli was quick to pick up on what people really wanted when they spoke to her. Body language said everything even if their lips didn't.
"I think I'm okay, thanks," she said in a completely non-rude tone, flashing him a cute smile. Juli was definitely not flirting back. At least she didn't think she was. Ian was cute, but with the jersey on and the sweat dripping down his face and bit of dried blood beneath his nose, he wasn't exactly prince charming. "Julianne," she said holding out her hand to him for a hand shake.

He knew she could read him. He could tell. He wasn't trying to flirt, or even try to be a jerk or play a joke. He was simply trying to be kind and nice to her. Trying to help someone out.
When her hand extended to him he smiled and took it, shaking gently." Nice to meet you Julianne." He said in reply with a handsome smile as he would quickly turn around and continue to skate in the same direction as her.
" So, Julianne... I take it by the way you are skating, and the way you are focusing... Your either in Ballet, or Gymnastics." He raised an eyebrow as he would turn a bit as they reached the corner.

Juli watched him turn his body a bit as they skated around the corner. "Nice to make your acquaintance as well Ian," she said in response, seeing his smile appear again. She liked his smile. What was she saying? She was crazy. She couldn't let herself flirt or even think about flirting because that led to more flirting and possibly dating and Juli had gotten hurt too many times to want to get into another relationship. She just couldn't put herself in that place again.
Juli skated more and heard him say that she was either a dancer or a gymnast. She let out a soft laugh before answering him. "Dancer is the correct choice," she pointed out with a smile as she skated a bit faster to get in front of him and turned around herself so that she was now facing his back. She laughed a bit as she waited for him to turn around and face her. "Been dancing since I was born. It's my life," she said. Then a though hit her. "Do you go to St. Maxima's?" she asked, looking to him.

When she got behind him he could tell she had started to flirt. A: He wasn't flirting first of all. And B: Guess he could turn this into something good. He hadn't had a date since he left Anchorage.
When she asked him if he went to St.Maxima he would shake his head. " Nope, I just like practicing with their Hockey Team and wearing their jersey and playing at every game..." Yes he was the occasional smart ass. So what? Isn't that apart of flirting?
He would turn around with her and face her. " You are pretty graceful, but are you fast?" He would as sort of picking up speed in his skate, taking longer and faster strides, but not to much.

Juli narrowed her eyes at him and gave a half grin when he gave her a smart ass answer. She was going to ask him to go to the basketball game with her to watch her dance but that was out of the question now. She knew he was flirting but c'mon, she didn't want to flirt. Why in the hell was she doing this? What made it worse is the fact that Juli was very single and very lonely and had been feeling it lately but she didn't want to get involved with anyone because she couldn't afford to get hurt.
When he said she was graceful she smiled but then he asked if she was fast and she could see him picking up his speed. She turned herself around and let her body end up right beside his. Their arms were now touching as Juli looked to him. "Is that a challenge?" she asked, keeping up with his longer and bit faster strides.
